For a long time, I assumed that starting a publishing company was something only large organizations could do. When people think about publishers, they often imagine offices filled with editors, designers, marketers, and stacks of books waiting to be shipped. That image made publishing feel far beyond the reach of an ordinary person. However, after going through the process myself, I discovered that starting a publishing company is much more accessible than most people think. Running a successful publishing business is certainly challenging, but establishing a publishing company and releasing your first book can be done without a large team or a huge budget.
